Getting cold in Paris…

… starting with the look that would probably be the selection of Captain Jack Sparrow for a travel to Siberia…

… to the sophisticated, elegant Willy Wonker (if he´d ever change his cloth)…

… to the Siberian ballet dancer (coming form his actual inspiration Russian Tatar dancer Rudolf Nureyev), which rather look like muscular version of sumo wrestler…

… to  the Russian tsar or sultan of… ähm fashion!?! …himself!

Alexander McQueen: Men's Fall 2011

 

Mhrmh, may I present to you:

Ok, to be honest with you I am not on the first pages with the last men's wear of Alexander McQueen… guess way more print and a bit of mummy, something like that… but, yep this one, I have to say Miss Burton, very stylish and with a great British eccentricity!

Thierry Mugler: Nicola Formichett rounds up his work portfolio

 

The stylist Nicola Formichett skillfully kills for fashion- animals or cloth, it´s all for the cause! But what ever had to die, it seemed to make sense and success proved him right.

Now in his new position as creative director at Thierry Mugler he used a rather mortal looking guy as his inspiration:

The imaginably dark outcome (ok, with a few exceptions):





The question is, was a skull man really necessary to inspire a dark collection? Or what else of the collection really resembled the inspiration of Formichett!? Where is the new, crazy and killed stuff (I mean just for the sake of fashion)??? I would have wanted to see… “more”!

Salvatore Ferragamo: Men's Fall 2011

Hot hot hot- now that´s the kinda stylish guy I want to have on my arm (in regards to the statement by Jimmy Choo during the presentation of the men´s footwear).

Especially due to the recent event of me moving to Florence, I have an special eye on italian designers and Salvatore Ferragamo is, at least in the menswear section so far, good piece of those. He started his business in the U.S., were he was able, due to his good reputation in shoe creation, to provide Hollywood stars such as Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich and Audrey Hepburn with his shoes.
In the 20ties he decided to go back to Italy… and where else than Florence… haha…  so I get to stroll on the traces of the shoe designer!

Jimmy Choo: Debut of men´s footwear collection

 

Although supposed to be inspired by the “stylish London man”, as we all know there´s no accounting for taste, I rather think it´s the look of a stylish grandpa… but a rather unstylish London guy! Hopefully the rest of the collection is way more stylish, especially considering the fact that “It’s a stand-alone collection for the man who’s on the arm of a Jimmy Choo woman.” And who would want to be on the arm of a 70 year old…?
